How To Apply For Unisa For Second Semester Unisa – The University of South Africa give golden chance Students wish to study at their University they are Open Second Semester Applications.

Who Can Apply During Semester 2?

Everyone wanting to start a new undergraduate qualification can apply for admission in semester two. This includes first-time Unisa applicants

, new students, students switching qualifications or specialisations, individuals reapplying after previously not being offered a spot, or individuals transitioning from a higher certificate or another programme to undergraduate studies.

A critical part of the application process is identifying the qualifications linked to your career interests and future planning. The next step is to choose the qualification(s) for which you want to apply. This will enable Unisa to evaluate your application and advise you of the outcome.

Admission applications are open for various undergraduate qualifications at different NQF levels. Applicants can apply for admission to two qualifications, including a lower-level one alongside their preferred choice.

For example, applying for a Bachelor of Commerce degree might also involve applying for a higher certificate to meet admission requirements.

It’s important to note that completing a higher certificate doesn’t guarantee admission to a higher-level qualification due to limited spaces. Applicants who completed a higher certificate and want to pursue a diploma or degree programme should refer to related qualifications.

Unisa said applications for 2024 enrolment in Honours Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas are closed.

Students interested in enrolling in Master’s and Doctoral programmes can still apply for admission in 2024. However, programmes are removed as soon as they are filled meaning that students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as qualifications.

Applications for a limited number of master’s and doctoral qualifications for the 2024 academic year are still open for admission.

UNISA second semester Applications Periods

Undergraduate Qualifications

Applications for limited undergraduate qualifications for the second semester of the 2025 academic year will be open from April  to May. This application period applies to those seeking to enroll in select undergraduate programs that UNISA offers. Prospective undergraduate students should ensure they verify which programs are accepting new students during this period and prepare their application materials according to the guidelines provided on the UNISA website.

Honours Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas

Similarly, applications for limited honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas will also be open from April  to May . This is an excellent opportunity for students who wish to advance their studies and specialize further in their respective fields. Applicants to these programs must typically hold an undergraduate degree and meet additional program-specific criteria to be considered for admission.

How To Apply For Unisa For Second Semester

  1. Head to the ‘Apply for admission’ page
  2. Once you’re here, you will see options for which qualification you want to apply to. Choose the type of qualification you’re applying for.
  3. Read the information then click on ‘Start the process’
  4. Read the information then click on ‘Proceed to ODL and Unisa’
  5. Read the information and then scroll back to the top and click on the circle with a number 2 inside which says ‘Are you certain about your career?’
  6. Read the information about applications to Unisa and then scroll back to the top and click on the circle with a number 3 inside which says ‘Choose or find your qualification?’. (If you require more information on the courses being offered and the different faculties, scroll down to where it says ‘Explore qualifications by interest fields’. Once you know which faculty you want to go into and the qualification you want to pursue, to go back to select, click on the circle with a number 3 inside which says ‘Choose or find your qualification?’ again.)
  7. You can then select your qualification by college (faculty) or level.
  8. Once here, you will find the different qualifications Unisa offers in that college/faculty. If you click on the different qualifications, you will find information such as admission requirements and if you click on ‘Registration and curriculum information’, you will find the modules that belong to that specific qualification.
  9. You then head back to the page where it shows the different qualifications offered with the step circles on top.
  10. You have now found the qualification you want to apply for and should now click on the circle with a number 4  inside which says ‘Apply for admission’
  11. Read the information and then click on ‘CLICK HERE to apply online’
  12. In the first section, click on the bubble next to the qualification you’re studying towards.
  13. If you already have a student number, click yes. If not, click no.
  14. Fill in your details and follow the prompts.
  15. Once you’re done, you’ll need to submit relevant documents.

On the Unisa website, you can apply in a few simple steps. This applies only to certain undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.

  • Transcripts certified by your school
  • A certified copy of any academic records from tertiary education
  • Copy of your ID document certified by a notary
  • Documents that are not in English or Afrikaans need to be sworn translated
