How to get exam results from UNISA UNISA final exam may accessed through my UNISA Portal.

What Unisa Exam Codes Mean

  • 1: Pass – Achieved with a final mark of 50% and above.
  • 2: Pass with Distinction – Obtained with a final mark of 75% and above.
  • 3: Failed – Received a final mark below 50%, requiring re-registration for the module.
  • 5: Absent from Examination – Issued when submissions are not received within the allowed period, requiring re-registration for the module.
  • 6: Supplementary Examination – Granted under certain circumstances, allowing students a second examination opportunity without re-registration.
  • 7/99: Results Outstanding – Marks are pending, and students can follow up from December 14, 2023.
  • 8: Not Admitted to an Examination – Issued if examination admission criteria are not met, necessitating re-registration.
  • 24: Absent – Supplementary – Given when the proctoring tool is not used in the first examination opportunity; re-registration is required for the second opportunity.
  • 28: Script Rejected – Outcome for students not using the proctoring tool in their second opportunity; re-registration is necessary.

Students aggrieved by decisions can appeal through the online appeal form. Unisa has revealed that students unsuccessful in their second attempts must re-register, as the university does not allow a third examination opportunity.

Exam/module results

You can obtain your exam results via

  • myUnisa
  • e-mail

Remember, you won’t receive your exam or final assessment results if you have outstanding student fees or library books, or did not use the applicable proctoring tools. If you want to query your exam results, you must contact Unisa within 3 months of your exam results being released. If we don’t hear from you within this period, we will regard all results as correct and complete.

How do I get Unisa exam results?

Are you excitedly anticipating the release of your exam results? The University of South Africa recognises and appreciates the anticipation and excitement accompanying this significant milestone. Whether you’re a student, a parent, or just someone interested in staying informed about the latest educational updates, we’re here to help. Are you looking for a convenient method to access your UNISA exam results?

UNISA recognises the significance of receiving your results on time, and they continuously strive to find more efficient ways to deliver exam results to students as quickly and conveniently as possible. Once your exam results are prepared, they will be conveniently sent directly to your myLife e-mail account. This allows you to conveniently access your results as soon as they are ready without any unnecessary delays or complications.

Supplementary exams

If you qualify for a supplementary exam, it will be indicated in your examination results. Remember, you cannot apply for a supplementary exam. Visit the examinations website for more information. Modules making use of continuous assessment do not have supplementary examinations; if you fail such a module, you will have to re-register for the module.

Query your exam results

You may apply to have your exam answer file re-marked if you received a final mark of between 35% and 49% or between 68% and 74%. Re-marks are not available for modules which are assessed by means of online timed tests, orals, continuous assessments or practical exams.

What’s the process?

  • The online application form is available on myUnisa. Login to myUnisa, click on “Assessment Admin” and “Examination Results”.
  • Pay the fee to have your exam answer book re-marked. Click here for the fee payable and click here for Unisa’s payment methods and banking details.
  • Re-register for the module before the closing date for registrations while you wait for the result of the re-mark.

Visit the examinations website for more information.

I failed an exam. What do I do now?

Failing an exam can be overwhelming and you may not want to continue with your studies. But don’t give up! Reflect on what happened – this will help you gain some perspective about your situation. What can you do differently to pass your exam next time?

  • Reflect on how you prepared for your exams and what you would like to do differently. We suggest that you work through the exam self-reflection document.
  • Make an appointment with a student counsellor to discuss how you can move forward with your studies. Contact them at counselling@unisa.ac.za or book an online appointment to have a discussion.

Contact a counsellor by sending an e-mail to counselling@unisa.ac.za if you require further support.
