The Independent Examination Board (IEB) is a South African independent assessment agency that offers alternative Matric examinations to independent schools. The Board is accredited by Umalusi.
Who Qualifies For IEB Supplementary Exams?
There are a few things that schools need to have obtained before they can register with the IEB. here are some requirements you should consider before registering:
- Must be registered with the Provincial Department of Education before the learners write their Grade 12 exams
- As a school you will need to have completed the evaluation process and accredited with Umalusi;
- If you have not been through the evaluation process, the IEB will consider the outcome after the Umalusi process is completed
- The IEB will also consider provisional acceptance f there has been an evaluation conducted by other recognised agencies (e.g. IQAA or CIE)
- There needs to be a minimum total of students in Grade 10 (e.g. 10 learners)
- Teachers must attend the subject conferences
- Schools must provide financial statements for the past 3 years
- The students that are enrolled at the school must be full-time learners
How To Register For An IEB Supplementary Exam
Registration can be completed on the IEB’s online registration platform www.ieb-online.co.za. Applicants will be required to make payment through the online platform.
A fee per subject is payable. The fees are determined on an annual basis will be available on the registration platform. The fees for the May examination are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
