• To correct your name at the University of South Africa, the first step is to utilise the myUnisa platform.
• Log into myUNISa with your username and password
• Select “myAdmin” and proceed to biography details
• In that section, navigate to make the necessary changes to your name.
• This will ask for proof of information.
• Click submit when done to send your updated details.
• Once done, it is important to do a follow-up email to UNISA to ensure your correct name stays in the system.
• Send an email to Unisa to myUnisaHelp@unisa.ac.za to help you correct the name.
• In the email, ensure to add your student number and a copy of a valid identification document.

How to Update your Unisa personal details

• Use your details to log in to your myUNISA account.
• Click on “myAdmin” after you’ve logged in.
• Click “Student admin” to progress.
• You will then get to “Biographical details” in the next step.
• All of your personal information is in your biography data.
• To get in, click on “update personal details.”
• To make the changes you need to, go through the site.
• When you are done, click “Submit” to finish changing your personal information.

Please e-mail your notification to the Division: Graduations (gaudemaus@unisa.ac.za) and, where appropriate, enclose your supporting documentation (eg certified copy of your marriage certificate, divorce order, matriculation certificate or proof from Home Affairs).
