How to Calculate Matric Results?

The results are entirely based on the tests for the Senior Certificate (Amended). Results for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) are split into two categories: 25% and 75%, totaling 100%. 25% of the grade is made up by school-based evaluations, which include exams, projects, and assignments for every topic before the test. The ultimate test grade for each written topic is 75%.

Matric Pass Rate Required in Different Levels

The Matric pass rate Categorized in to four which Are Bachelor Pass rate Level,Diploma pass rate level,Higher Certificate Pass Rate Level,And Senior Certificate Pass Rate Levels.

Bachelor’s Degree Pass

This represents the pinnacle of Matric passes. You can enroll in a university to pursue a bachelor’s degree if you have this pass. You must pass the following tests in order to be eligible for a bachelor’s degree:

SENIOR CERTIFICATE (AMENDED) SC(A) NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE (NSC)
Obtain 40% in your Home Language subject Obtain 40% in your Home Language subject
Obtain 50% in four other Higher Credit subjects Obtain 50% in four other Higher Credit subjects
Obtain 30% in one other subject Obtain 30% in two other subjects
APS – 21 APS – 23

Diploma Pass Rate

In Matric, this is the second stage of passing. You can enroll in a diploma program at a higher education institution with this pass. You must complete the following tests in order to receive a Diploma Pass:

SENIOR CERTIFICATE (AMENDED) SC(A) NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE (NSC)
Obtain 40% for your Home Language Obtain 40% for your Home Language
Obtain 40% for four other High Credit subjects Obtain 40% for four other High Credit subjects
Obtain 30% for one other subject Obtain 30% for two other subjects
APS – 17 APS – 19

Higher Certificate Pass

The third stage of a Matric pass is this one. You can enroll in a higher education facility to pursue a Higher Certificate if you pass this exam. You must complete the following tests in order to receive a Higher Certificate Pass:

SENIOR CERTIFICATE (AMENDED) SC(A) NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE (NSC)
Obtain 40% in your Home Language Obtain 40% in your Home Language
Obtain 40% in two other subjects Obtain 40% in two other subjects
30% in two other subjects 30% in three other subjects
APS – 13 APS – 15

Senior Certificate (Amended) Pass 

This is a standard Matric pass. You can enroll in any course that simply requires a Matric pass with this pass. You must pass the following tests in order to qualify for a Senior Certificate (Amended) Pass:

SENIOR CERTIFICATE (AMENDED) SC(A) NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE (NSC)
Pass at least 3 subjects with 40%. One of these subjects should be an official Home Language. Obtain 40% in your Home Language
Pass at least 2 subjects with 30%. One of these subjects should be a First Additional Language or Home Language Obtain 40% in two other subjects
You are allowed to fail 1 subject. The minimum percentage you can get for this subject is 20%. 30% in three other subjects. You can fail one subject even if it is your First Additional Language BUT you must get 30% or more for the rest of the subjects
APS – 12 APS – 14
