SASSA Grant Increase 2024, New payment amounts

SASSA Grant Increase 2024, New payment amounts Enoch Godongwana Ministry of Finance South Africa on his Budget Speech delivered in February,had announced that social grants across the board were set to increase over the course of 2024.

SASSA Grants Payment Amount Increases October 2024 (Easy Table)

SASSA Older Persons Grant

The Older Persons Grant, commonly known as the Pensioners Grant, is designed to support South Africans of retirement age. The new amount for this grant is R2180 plus an additional R20.

SASSA War Veterans Grant

The War Veterans Grant is provided to South Africans who have served in the armed forces. This grant is less common but equally important. The new amount is R2180 plus an additional R20.

SASSA Disability Grant

The Disability Grant is intended for disabled South Africans. To qualify, applicants must undergo a means test and a medical assessment. The updated amount for this grant is R2180.

SASSA Care Dependency Grant

This grant is specifically for households caring for individuals with certain conditions. The new amount for the Care Dependency Grant is R2180.

SASSA Foster Child Grant

The Foster Child Grant is aimed at supporting foster children. Guardians and parents must apply for this grant, which has been increased to R1180.

Child Support Grant & Top-Up

The Child Support Grant has been increased to R530. Additionally, the Child Support Top-Up Grant now stands at R530 plus an extra R260.

Grant-In-Aid Grant

The Grant-In-Aid is for carers and guardians who require additional assistance. The new amount for this grant is R530.

SRD Grant

SRD Grant has received a small raise of R20, bumping the amount from R350 to R370. The amount isn’t a big difference, but the government has set an additional budget to continue the grant disbursement for another year. Also, there are rumors that the government might bring Universal Basic Income and stop the regular SRD R370 payments.
