Ukwazi School of Nursing Online Application 2025 /2026 Intake Applications for 2025 for the HIGHER CERTIFICATE IN NURSING (R169) and the DIPLOMA IN NURSING (R171) will open on 1 MARCH 2024 and will CLOSE ON 30 JUNE 2024 wherafter all applicants meeting our admission criteria will be entered into a selection process.

Studying Duration for Nursing School in South Africa
In South Africa, one must possess one of the following educational prerequisites to become a nurse: A candidates and enrolled nursing auxiliary students who completed grade 12 before the current academic year
♠a four-year bachelor degree in nursing
♠a three-year diploma
♠a one-year higher certificate in auxiliary nursing
♠one-year postgraduate advanced diploma in nursing and midwifery on top of your degree or diploma.
Ukwazi School of Nursing (Florida) Admission Entry Requirements:
Although not all universities require it, people who want to study nursing must be proficient in the following subjects: mathematics, physical sciences, and life sciences. You must have an exit level 4 National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an equivalent qualification.
QUALIFICATIONS
Students can currently study for two (2) accredited and registered nursing qualifications at UKWAZI SCHOOL OF NURSING:
- the HIGHER CERTIFICATE in NURSING (SAQA ID 98915)(NQF Level 5) – a 1 year qualification leading to registration as an auxiliary nurse with the SOUTH AFRICAN NURSING COUNCIL ; and
- the DIPLOMA IN NURSING (SAQA ID 97938)(NQF Level 6) – a 3 year qualification leading to registration as a general nurse.
PLEASE NOTE: all students must write the admission to practice (“board”) examinations set by the SOUTH AFRICAN NURSING COUNCIL after having obtained their qualifications at the School. These examinations have currently been put in abeyance by the SOUTH AFRICAN NURSING COUNCIL.

- Diploma in Nursing (General. Community, Psychiatry) and Midwifery: Four Years: R425
- Diploma in General Nursing Science (bridging Course): Two Years: R683
- Diploma in One Year Midwifery: One Year: R254
Diplomas
- Post Graduate – R6000 Per Annum
- 4 Year Diploma – R6000 Per Annum
- Bridging Programme for Enrolled Nurses – 1st Year: R3000; 2nd Year: R4000
Certificate Programmes:
- Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary (ENA): One Year: R2176
- Enrolled Nursing (EN): Two Years: R2175
Post Registration Programmes:
- 1 Year Diploma in Midwifery – R6000 Per Annum
- 1 Year Diploma in Community Nursing Science – R3000 Per Annum
Enrollment Programmes (Certificate Courses):
Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary – R 3000 Per Annum
Enrolled Nursing – 1st Year: R3000, 2nd Year: R4000
