About Nasi iSpani Program
The Government Nasi iSpani recruitment drive has attracted over 1.3 million applicants since it’s launch, both online and paper-based applications.
The recruitment programme, a Gauteng Provincial Government initiative was launched last year and is aimed at addressing unemployment and promoting access to job opportunities available within the Provincial Government.
“The province has a population of 5 million young people; almost half of them 2,3 million, could be classified as not in education, employment, and training. In response to these depressing numbers, we launched the biggest assault on poverty alleviation and unemployment that this country through the Nasi Ispani Programme, which ensures that jobs and job opportunities are created for the millions of unemployed youths”, said Premier Lesufi.
The Gauteng government has partnered the Department of Employment and Labour for yet another phase of Nasi Ispani which will result in thousands of youth getting job opportunities.
At the time of publishing, over hundred (100) job vacancies are open for application at the Gauteng Provincial Government Departments.
Premier Panyaza Lesufi expressed his optimism and enthusiasm about the project, stating, “The launch of the Hoi Hoi Gauteng Labour Activation project marks a new chapter in our efforts to combat unemployment and create opportunities for our people. This initiative is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to the prosperity and well-being of the residents of Gauteng.”

What is Nasi Ispani reference number and Where to Get it
Nasi Ispani reference number is a unique identifier assigned to each applicant who applies for a job through the Nasi Ispani initiative. This reference number is used to track the application process and communicate with applicants on their application status.
Applicants will receive their Nasi Ispani reference number through SMS within two weeks of application submission. The reference number will feature in the format REFS/[number]. For example, an applicant who has a reference number REFS/123456 would have the applicant on the n-th, namely, the 123,456th application.
Applicants can check the status of their applications using the Nasi Ispani reference number. Using the Gauteng Provincial Government site, applicants can enter their reference number in a specific section to view their application’s status.
