About South African Nursery Association Bursary
The South African Nursery Association (SANA) Bursary is designed to support students pursuing Horticulture and Landscaping qualifications, primarily at the undergraduate level. In exceptional cases, postgraduate students (PhD, Masters, and BTech) may also be considered for funding.
The bursary specifically covers tuition fees for the current academic year and is disbursed directly to the educational institution.
It’s important to note that the bursary does NOT cover the following expenses: outstanding fees, registration fees, accommodation, or any additional costs such as practical training, travel, allowances, prescribed books, and more.
Bursary recipients will be required to become SANA members at no cost. Being a member comes with various benefits, including regular electronic newsletters covering industry updates and important dates, access to the digital copy of the annual SANA Magazine, and the opportunity to attend SANA TRADE FAIRS as a visitor. These trade fairs, held twice a year in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, offer insights into the nursery industry’s operations.
Membership lasts for one year, and student members must reapply annually.
Shortlisted candidates may receive invitations for interviews with SANA representatives in their respective areas, which are scheduled for April each year.
